Flower Petal Cake

This is a 4 layer orange vanilla cake with orange vanilla buttercream frosting. Saw this "petal" technique a while back and wanted to give it a try so I made it for a belated birthday cake for a friend. It was wonderful!

Beautiful! I haven't seen the petal technique before; how does it work?

Thank you! I used the Wilton #12 tip to make dots and then "smushed" and dragged them with my frosting spatula, a spoon would work well too!

I love how the ombre effect is in the cake layers. Your hand must've hurt after this!

@SugarBuzzLLC actually, this was one of the easiest ones! My "I'm With Coco" cake, now that one hurt the hands!
