Perry the Platypus

Where's Perry? He's been made into a cake. The Disney artist's use of blocky shapes worked to my advantage for this cake. I used two loaf pans to bake the body of Perry. The rounded part of the cake was removed with a cake leveler, then covered in fondant to make the beak and tail. The fondant is very workable to achieve the desired texture. Marshmallow and molded tootsie rolls were placed with toothpicks to make the eyes.
